ABOUT KRYSTAL CANTU

I was born in Edinburg, Texas on May 9th of 1989. We were a family of four; my mother, father, sister and myself. My parents never had much but we lived the happiest and fullest life with what we had. I knew my parents struggled financially and they did everything in their power to raise my sister and I in a way where we grew to be strong and independent in a life we could hold on our own.

Team USA

Tedious does not even begin to describe what it takes to become a part of the U.S. Paralympic team. Aside from training there are countless registration forms, fees, emails and applications to fill out. If I’m not training, I’m doing work on getting everything settled for each event and each license needed. I have been extremely blessed with a coach who is by my side to help with everything along the way.

With a new personal record of 19 meters my mind quickly turns to higher numbers. World Championships this year for the Paralympics will be held in Qatar during the month of October. To qualify for this event I must throw a minimum of 22 meters.
